The first series of podcasts were an audio version of blogging, soon
enough wanna-be radio personalities were turning them out in their
home studios and basements. Then, corporations like Whirlpool found
a use for the broadcast programs as did politicians, and  publishing
groups. And now, even paper has a podcast.

NewPage Corp. recently launched a multimedia campaign,
PaperTellsAStory.com (PTAS), to combat the dumping of Asian imported

Web-based mentoring – think of it as online dating but for business professionals who want to find a mentor, not a mate. This process lets people search for and find that special someone who can help them advance in their career, or work on that business skill, or learn about another department/industry. Organizations can offer web-based mentoring to their entire workforce, helping to build a unified culture that bridges the divide between departments, locations, job levels, and even workforce initiatives. In fact, a new study by Triple Creek Associates, makers of Open Mentoring®, found that web-based mentoring positively impacts employee retention and productivity. Out of 361 respondents, 85% reported a positive connection between mentoring and factors that impact retention, and 81% reported a positive connection on factors that impact productivity. Mentoring for the modern age: Link me in, hook me up, watch me prosper.

I recently read that when the presidential race between Obama and McCain ends in November, an estimated 57 percent of voters will rely on paper ballots. It is me or is it asinine that in age of tech-centricity, more than half of the grand ol US of A will be voting by paper ballot?

Technology is at the core of human existence. We use it to communicate, travel, learn, work, connect, date, plan trips and buy gifts. And yet more than half of Americas population wont be using technology to vote in November. Why not?!

When the 2000 paper ballot debacle hit, there was an influx in the purchase of electronic voting machines. And along with those technological voting investments came problems ranging from vanishing votes to hacker vulnerabilities. Beginning last year, some states abruptly ordered election officials to nix electronic voting because of the aforementioned kinks. Now many of these machines sit idle in storage while constituents continue to foot the bill.

If youve got five minu

There is a lot of talk about a recession and its impact on businesses large and small. While things like the economy are out of businesses control, the good new is that there are steps companies of any size can take to ensure that their customers remain loyal despite economic fears. I wanted to provide you with some background information and gauge your interest in a fairly cool and innovative technology working its way into the healthcare, government, financial and now education sectors. Fujitsu has developed a palm vein authentication technology which reads your palm print to ensure you are who you say you are, and is currently being used at ATM machines in Japan, hospitals, and most recently, will be deployed around the globe to protect against cheating. Would you be interested in speaking with executives from Fujitsu about how palm vein authentication is superior to fingerprinting and iris scanning? We would appreciate the opportunity to secure coverage in your blog, so please let me know if I can provide any additional information. I'm attaching a press release announcing Fujitsu's strategic partnership with GMAC/Pearson to provide security for testing facilities around the world. Look forward to your response.

Regards,

Ethan

According to Wikipedia, “innovation” may refer to both radical and incremental changes in thinking, in processes or in services.  Too often nowadays the term is thrown around without much thought to the real meaning.  Radical and incremental changes are paramount to innovation, but which companies are forcing them?  Innovation in manufacturing processes is something companies have been improving for hundreds of years.  From Ford with the first assembly line, to Dell with the construction and availability of the laptop computer, and recently Netflix with the way DVD’s are automatically processed and shipped directly to your home via your online list.

But how would you define modern day innovation in the typically boring industry of printing?  Would a company that seamlessly produced more than 8,000,000,000 business cards worldwide in just eight years be considered innovative?  What if it also produced more than 3,000,000 self-inking stamps or nearly 900,000,000 million

Its not "millions" that have been sold, but the online stores and some brick and mortar stores are quickly selling out of their stock. All because of using (mostly) LinkedIn as a source of social networking contacts. By using LinkedIn in a certain way I've been able to  promote my book "How To Be A Creative Genius (in five minutes or less)" and interact directly with readers. No newsletter or SEO, just good old fashioned online networking.

In the United States, international export of high tech goods accounted for $214 billion in revenue in 2007, while imports totaled $333 billion, according to the AeA (formerly known as the American Electronics Association). This tradeflow, coupled with the steady increase in cross border development, design and manufacturing of goods, is a strong indicator of the demand for software that assists companies to translate product documents into multiple languages. In fact, according to Across Systems, multiational companies typically translate written materials into somewhere between 10 and 30 languages per document. But how do companies maintain productivity of knowledge workers? And in America, do companies value the language assets they have for how important those are to global marketing and localization?

I thought this might be an interesting concept for a best practices story because knowledge worker productivity is an important component of innovation and translation of documents an
